The Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Patron Saint of Poland, visited the high school of Saint Michel on March 11 and 12. This diocesan school of Leiria-Fatima, with approximately 1200 students from age ten to eighteen, and also more than 100 teachers and staff, welcomed the Icon during their Lent celebrations as part of the spiritual preparations for Easter.

The presence of Our Lady helped the students to reflect on the importance of human life and become more aware of the need to defend the right of every human being to have a life with dignity and quality.

During the celebrations and in the presence of many priests, the assembly was invited to place their lives and their families into the hands of the Heavenly Mother and to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation, as an essential step for the true meeting with Christ, the One who sets us all free.
