The Icon of Czestochowa that travels the world “From Ocean to Ocean” remained for eight days in the Primate´s Cathedral of Quito. The parishioners visiting the temple, the most important church in Ecuador, displayed a lot of interest, curiosity and admiration for the Icon.

Monsignor Luis Tapia, Rector of the Cathedral, said that although the Ecuadorians have greater veneration to Mary in the dedication of the Virgin of Quinche, the Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa aroused much devotion. "She accompanied us during the hours of the liturgy, the recitation of the rosary in the mornings and the holy Eucharist in the afternoon," he said.

During the homilies, reference was made to the defense of life from conception to natural death; thus trying to catechize Catholics on priority issues that are very current, especially at a time when the legalization of abortions and euthanasia is global.
