Early in the morning, on August 7th, the Icon of Czestochowa arrived from Šiauliai at Kuršėnai, where she was being awaited by the representatives of the Family Center in Tėlsai and the parishioners of St. John the Baptist Parish.  The scouts brought the Icon into the church.  In this manner, Our Lady began her visit in the Tėlsai Diocese, in Lithuania.

The next stop was the parish of St. Joseph in Papilė, as well as the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary in Venta, followed by the visit to the Church of St. Anne in Akmenė and the Parish of St. John the Baptist in Viekšniai, where a visit with the Orthodox also took place.

Next, the Black Madonna visited the Church of St. Francis of Assissi in Mažeikiai at 6:00 o’clock in the evening.  In his homily to the faithful, Pastor Tomas Žlibinas underlined the importance of the intention of the peregrination of the Icon of Czestochowa – the protection and defense of all human life.  Large crowds of the faithful gathered to greet Our Lady.  On the way to The Calvary of Żemaitija (Žemaičių Kalvarija), Our Lady’s Icon also made a stop at the Church of Christ the King in Tirkšliai.

The Calvary of Żematija is the oldest and the main Marian shrine in the Diocese of Telšiai.  At 21:00 (9:00 p.m.) local time, the hymn in honor of Our Blessed Virgin Mary echoed back from the vaults of the basilica.  His Excellency, Bishop Jonas Boruta, SJ, presided over the celebration.  Prayers before the Icon of Czestochowa lasted until late hours in the night.  The next morning, on August 8th, Our Lady rode through the streets of Calvary in her mobile, and later, with a motorcade of more than a dozen vehicles, She headed to Šiluva.
