The Pilgrim Icon returned to Ecuador, this time to visit Her children in the city of Guayaquil. Fr. Leon Juchniewicz, Polish missionary, chancellor of the Diocese of Santo Domingo and custodian of the Icon here in Ecuador, arrived with the Pilgrim Virgin of Czestochowa on Saturday, August 10, and as soon as She landed he took Her to the retirement home
of the Sisters of Santo Domingo de Guzman where the II Meeting of Catholic Formation of Ecuador was held under the general theme: "Reign of Christ and Common Good -Social Credibility, Liturgy and Sanctity", which can well be synthesized in the motto "Lex orandi , lex credendi, lex vivendi”.
This meeting was organized by the Pilgrims of Saint Michael Community, and had participants of different nationalities. An American couple surprised Fr. Leon when they began singing the hymn to Our Lady of Czestochowa in Polish. It was the only thing they knew in Polish! It turned out that the parish in the United States where they attend regularly is dedicated to the Virgin of Czestochowa, so for them the arrival of the Icon was a true blessing.
The Our Lady received the songs and applause of the participants, but it was quick as a lightning visit, only for a few hours, because they were already waiting for Her at the Parish of Queenship of Mary.
