At the Christ the King College in Tutzing, the sisters of the Benedictine Missionary Sisters welcomed the Częstochowa Icon traveling “From Ocean to Ocean” with great joy. The Benedictine Sisters conduct evangelical missionary activities there, undertaking the apostolate of witness and caring for children and youth, especially orphans. Their rule refers to St. Benedict, and the founder is the Polish mother Jadwiga Józefa Kulesza. They also run a school for poor children.
On the occasion of the visit of Our Lady of Częstochowa, a Holy Mass was celebrated in the inner chapel of the school run there. The sisters emphasize that their Congregation of St. Benedict in the global dimension, where they have their facilities, is always open to the Mother of God and welcomes her with an open heart. The same thing happened in the Brazilian city of Presidente Prudente.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Edilson, Benedictine sisters and invited sisters from the Congregation of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word. The Congregation of the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará. The sisters were very happy that they had the opportunity to participate in this Eucharist, receive Holy Communion and adore the Icon.
The ceremony was also attended by students, teachers and employees of the school. After the Holy Mass they also had the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Częstochowa Icon and its journey through the world from "Ocean to Ocean". They were very moved.
It was a very joyful morning, full of prayer and contemplation.
