In Bydgoszcz, the cathedral is at the same time the Shrine of Our Lady of Beautiful Love. In the afternoon, on August 16th, a great number of faithful immersed in prayer awaited the arrival of the Icon of Czestochowa peregrinating across the world "from Ocean to Ocean" in defense of life.
Bishop Jan Tyrawa, assisted by numerous priests from the Bydgoszcz Diocese, greeted Our Blessed Mother in the entrance of the cathedral. After the celebration of Holy Mass, followed a prayer vigil animated by the Movements and Associations of the Bydgoszcz Diocese. Among others, there was the Domestic Church group who led beautifully with singing, Catholic Action and the Polish Right-Wing Club, as well as the Association of Catholic Families, Civitas Christiana, and the Society of St. Wojciech, Literary Archconfraternity and several other communities engaged in organizing the March for Life and Family.
For the meeting with Our Blessed Mother came exceptional crowds, many people did not manage to get inside the cathedral and stood praying outside, giving testimony of their faith. After the Mass, many faithful approached the Icon, in order to bow before Our Lady of Czestochowa.
