Saturday morning, after Mass in Trnava, Our Blessed Mother went to visit an old Marian shrine, well known for its pilgrimages. The shrine is called Staré Hory (like the mountains) and is located near the town of Banská Bystrica. The additional good news was the fact that this visit fell on the first Saturday of the month. Around one thousand faithful were already awaiting the arrival of the Icon.
The clergy brought her to the well, stopping for the prayer of the Rosary Mysteries that followed. The diocesan administrator of the Banská Bystrica Diocese, Fr. Marian Bublinec, presided over the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, assisted by 30 priests. He emphasized the fact that, "If the Church stops reminding the faithful of the basic truths about morality, family, and life, - she will betray her people. The future must be built upon the foundation of openness to life, or there won't be a future." Father Bublinec stated that every family needs a protector – a father, such as St. Joseph was for the Virgin Mary [and the Holy Family]. He also remarked that by abandoning God's Commandments and the Gospel, we are hurting ourselves. Individual prayer before the Icon that followed lasted until 2:00 pm.
In the afternoon, the next place of visitation was Rajecka Lesna. Unfortunately, the schedule had been slightly delayed, when the Life Mobile lost a wheel on this mountainous terrain. It was unknown why the wheel burst from within and fell off. Of course, further travel was impossible. Our Blessed Mother was forced to "make a transfer" to a passenger car. She arrived at Rajecka Lesna with only a 15 minute delay. There, eleven busloads of pilgrims, who came especially to the basilica with Bishop Tomáš Galis, the Bishop of the Žilina Diocese, awaited Our Lady. Bishop Tomáš Galis presided over the evening Liturgy of the Eucharist, assisted by sixteen other priests. After the solemn liturgy was ended, the Life Mobile was already standing in front of the church, awaiting Our Blessed Mother with a newly replaced wheel. The Icon arrived late in the evening, escorted by the police, at Rajecké Teplice, where Our Lady was venerated until late night hours.
