At 4:45 a.m. we left Schmitten (Albula) and drove towards Weesen with the beautiful scenery of the Lake Walen with the mountains around it and red, orange and yellow coloured trees at the shore and on the slopes. The icon has been all day in the church of the Dominican monastery Mary’s Shelter. Here nine sisters live and have arranged a very nice program.

Father Martin Camenzind, the spiritual guide of the convent, solemnly celebrated the holy mass at 7 a.m. Fifteen intercessions were formulated for pro-life concerns and for each intercession a candle was lightened and put in front of the icon. After the holy mass, there was Eucharistic adoration in silence. From 9 o’clock until 19 p.m., Sr. Consiglia Ronni led the meditation and the prayers every hour. When the icon was carried through the church to the bus, people sang and followed the icon. One could see how happy they were that the Mother of God stayed with them.

For lunch, we have been invited by the sisters to a good meal. Afterwards, I kindly could have a rest in a room that was prepared for pilgrims on the Way of St. James. For those who take this route on the Way of St. James, I whole-heartedly recommend visiting the sisters in Weesen.

From 20 until 21 p.m., the icon was in Oberurnen for an intensive hour of prayer and meditation. This hour was transmitted live over Radio Maria Deutschschweiz. During this time pastor Thomas Rellstab regularly has a broadcast about life and the protection of life.

After having let people pray personally to Mary, we drove to Unteriberg, Schwyz. There we first had to look for the church St. Joseph. We had no idea where it was so St. Joseph and holy Mary had to guide us and they did this very impressively. I could stop the bus at many places to call Pastor Dr. theol Roland Graf, vice president of HLI Switzerland, to ask where the church is. Finally I saw a place to park the bus and said:”Here we stop and see where we have to go to.” When I stopped the bus and looked out the window, I could see a church, the church St. Joseph. He always helps!
