On Tuesday, November 6, at 9:30 am, the Icon of Czestochowa visited the Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chiswick, London.  This church belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church abroad.  The veneration of the Icon, which was placed in front of the main iconostasis in the center of the church, lasted all day.  The "Akathist," which is the oldest hymn in honor of the Mother of God (Theotokos), was sung solemnly.

In the afternoon, at 6:30 pm, the evening Divine Liturgy began.  During this solemnity, the Orthodox bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad from Great Britain and Ireland (The Pan-Orthodox Assembly of Bishops with Churches in Great Britain and Ireland of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad).

An extensive line for individual veneration of the Icon continued.  A large crowd of people participated in this occasion.  Among many of the Orthodox, there were also Roman Catholics.  The case of the defense of human life and the cult of the Mother of God decisively unites the two Churches - the Orthodox and the Catholic.
