On Friday, the 30th of November, at 5 PM Our Lady of Częstochowa arrived in Baillet-en-France, 30 kms north of Paris, where there is a monumental statue of Our Lady of France. The Częstochowa Icon was placed in the oratory where there had gathered the Chaldeian community living in the neighbouring town of Sarcelles. A lot of them came. Chaldeians often come to Baillet. They pray in Arameic, the language of Jesus Christ.
Therefore that Friday they prayed to the Virgin Mary in Her own language.
Also the Tamils, coming from the south of India, came to the shrine Notre-Dame de France as they are also closely connected with the place.
During the evening prayers an Iranian man spoke about his conversion. In an amazingly powerful and emotional way did he tell us about sometimes painful stages of his spiritual transformation which finally led him to be baptised in the Jordan river.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by three priests, one of them of Tamil origin. Everything was held in very warm atmosphere characteristic for both of the communities – the Chaldeians and the Tamils, who are attached to the values that had inspired the peregrination of the Icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa. The young Chaldeians kept vigil with the Mother of God throughout the whole night.
