On Wednesday, January 16,  around 6 o`clock early in the morning, The Mother of God In Her Częstochowa Icon, came by ferry to Palama, the capital of Majorca (Spanish Palma de Mallorca).

The sea journey lasted practically the whole night but the sea was calm, there was no wind.

At the port representatives of the local pro life movement were waiting. They took care of the Icon during Her stay in the city and the diocese.

After 7.00 in the morning “Life Mobile” left for the convent of the Carmelite Sisters where at 8 AM the Holy Mass was celebrated to welcome the Icon and then the Sisters presided over the Holy Rosary.

Next the Icon was carried in a procession to the Church of Anunciation of the Holy Virgin Mary, which is known in Majorca as Iglesia de la Sang (The Church of the Sacred Blood), as the church houses the statue of Crucified Jesus known all over the island.

The Icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa was placed in the chapel beside the Crucified Christ. At 9.30 AM bishop Javier Salinas Vinals, the new metropolitan bishop of Majorca Diocese, presided over the solemn Holy Mass. In his homily he explained the aims of the pilgrimage “From Ocean to Ocean” to the congregation and he explicitly stressed the necessity to defend human life. After the Holy Mass both Bishop Salinas and the priests co-celebrating  with him, approached the Icon to pay homage to Her. Then all the faithful in the church, around 200 people, came to Her.

Next the Black Madonna went in a procession along the streets of the city to the chapel of the Sisters of the Poor (Hermanitas de los Pobres). After a short prayer The Mother of God went on along the streets of Palma to the door of the local abortion centre. There, a few decades of the Holy Rosary were said. The next stop was at the home of Ms Mar who is dying of cancer despite her young age (35). She was so happy that Our Lady visited her.  At 3 PM the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy was said and everybody returned to the chapel of the Sisters of the Poor where the Holy Mass was celebrated. In the evening the Mother of God again took to the streets and went to another abortion clinic where the Chaplet was said.

She spent the night with the Carmelite Sisters who accompanied Her with their prayers throughout the night. The meetings with  Our Lady of Częstochowa on Majorca were attended by a crowd of around 250 people. Also Poles who live on the Balearic Islands were present all the time. They sang the “Black Madonna” loudly.
