In the morning on Monday, January 21, the Częstochowa Icon was carried from the convent of the Carmelite Sisters to the church of St. Stephen where a number of Holy Masses were celebrated during the day. All day people could pray before the Icon. In the evening the Holy Eucharist was presided over by bishop José María Yanguas Sanz. For the night the Icon was taken to the convent of the Servants of the Most Blessed Sacrament, where adoration lasted all night.

In the morning the Mother of God visited  the House of St. Joseph where the little sisters take care of elderly people. During the visit in Cuenca the words of the Holy Father blessed John Paul II were referred to many times: "We urgently need a great prayer for life all over the world."

Around 10.30 AM the Icon left Cuenca for Abacete. A stop was planned in Quintanar del Rey, also in the province of Cuenca. The Mother of God was welcomed by father Felipe, the pastor of the chapel of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. They waited there for the delegation of pro-lifers from the diocese of Albacete who were due to take over the care of the Icon in the evening.

The inhabitants of this eight-thousand strong town stopped at the chapel on the way to their work, to pray for a while before the Black Madonna. At the time of adoration The Mother of God was met by groups of children, youths and many adults. At 5.30 PM the Mother of God left for Albacete.
