Having arrived at Getafe the Czestochowa Icon stopped at the Family Centra where She was awaited by bishop Joaquin Lopez de Andujar, the metropolitan bishop of the Diocese of Getafe. About 300 people came. After the solemn welcome bishop Lopez said he had deliberately chosen the Family Centre as the place to welcome Our Lady of Częstochowa in Getafe.
After the solemn Holy Mass, people could venerate the Icon throughout the afternoon. The nice thing was that there came a group of parents with with children who were just attending the workshops for families. They presented the Mother of God with pictures made by the children and put them at the foot of the Icon.
