The Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa arrived at the parish of the Most Holy Name of Jesus in Odivelas.
On Monday, 18th of March, Fr. Artur Karbowy SAC came with a group of lay people to the international seat of the “World Apostolate of Fatima”, in Fatima, to receive the Icon and to take it to Odivelas.
At 17h45, the Icon was welcomed by the parishioners and the parish priest, Fr. João Francisco Pietrus SAC. Right after arrival, she was taken with great joy into the parish church where she will remain till Thursday evening, March 21.
Fr. João Francisco recalled the story of the Icon and underlined the great privilege of receiving Our Lady of Czestochowa and praying in front of her image for life and for the families. All people present made the act of consecration to Our Lady by praying the words of blessed John Paul II, from the encyclical Evangelium Vitae. Then, there was the rosary for life and Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. José Zavorski SAC. During the following days, people are invited to pray before the Icon of Our Lady of Jasna Gora for life and for their families. The prayers will be led every day, starting at 21h30, by different groups of the parish.
