From November 23 to December 8, the Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa visited the parish of Santa Martha, in the diocese of Santo Domingo, in the urban area in the center of the city of Santo Domingo.
Sister Rocio Velasquez, of the Congregation of Social Communication, said that before the Mass as usual, the rosary was prayed daily in front of the Icon. Talks for young people and altar servers were also held on sensitive topics such as abortion and the defense of Christian way of life.
Apart from the central church, this parish is also responsible for 5 chapels in the neighborhood. Santa Martha - Sector 3, is rich in many apostolic groups belonging to these chapels. In these days they approached with curiosity to see the Icon and learned more about this devotion.
On Friday, December 8, Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the entire community with songs and prayers was on a walk in procession to the next parish of Saint Nicholas, where the icon will remain until further notice.
