On Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 2:30 p.m., the Black Madonna arrived in Linz, in the state of Upper Austria (Oberösterreich), to stay at the church belonging to the General House of the Sisters of Mary of Mount Carmel.  Our Blessed Mother was welcomed by Canon Regular, Father Franz Lang, the canon of St. Florian's Priory in Ansfelden, and the Carmelite Sisters.

Father Lang led the prayers.  Despite his advanced age of 90, he is known as an ardent devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The devotional prayers were very beautifully and carefully prepared.  Even occasional song missals were prepared for this occasion.  At 5:00 p.m., Pastor Joseph Bauer presided over the solemn Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist.

To say good-bye, the song "Black Madonna" was sung and the Icon of Our Lady was carried in a procession of about 300 faithful to the so-called New Cathedral, under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The Reverend Doctor Maximilian Strasser, who is the pastor of the cathedral, greeted Our Lady and brought Her into the Votive Chapel, where according to tradition, the Holy Rosary is recited daily, which is also the realization of the vows made by the builder of this cathedral - Bishop Franz J. Rudiger.  After the arrival of the Icon, the gathered faithful began the Rosary prayer.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was celebrated at the high altar to accommodate the large crowds that have arrived for the meeting with Our Lady of Czestochowa, since they would have not been able to fit in the chapel and the Icon had to be brought into the sanctuary.  The presider of the Holy Eucharist, Father M. Strasser, who is knowns for his great involvement in defense of life, called on the faithful present to engage actively and with love in the protection of the civilization of life and love.  He also emphasized the importance of helping the anguished mothers in their poverty and their needs.

After the priestly blessing imparted by the Pastor from Asten, Father Franz Spaller, only one more hour remained for individual veneration of Our Blessed Mother.  The farewell ceremony was very touching.  When the Icon stopped at the portico, in order to board the "Life Mobile," a large crowd of deeply moved people surrounded Her.  Already in the dark, around 8:00 p.m., Our Lady headed for the mountains, to visit the Bethlehem Sisters in Kinderalm in the middle of the night.
