In the morning on Thursday, October 25th, the Icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa visited Munich. After a night vigil in St. Joseph`s Church belonging to the Polish Catholic Mission in Germany, at 8.00 AM the Icon was taken to the popular church of St Paul`s near Theresienwiese in the city centre. There was a problem with timing again because it was the rush hour time.
At 9.00 AM the Holy Mass and a vigil in defence of human life started at St Paul`s church. After the Mass there was the exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Some people stayed to pray. At the same time a procession started with the Icon in the streets of Munich to the biggest abortion clinic in Germany where the prayer for life was continued.
This is the system of pro-life manifestations worked out by father Msgr Philip J. Reilly, the founder of a pro-life organisation The Helpers of God's Precious Infants. It consists in simultaneous prayers before the Most Blessed Sacrament and a legal, public, prayer march to an abortion clinic. The organisers talk to the women who are going to enter the clinic and offer them all the help they might need. Thanks to such actions many children have been saved and a few abortion clinics have been closed.
This time the Mother of God in Her Częstochowa Icon accompanied the German pro-life leaders during the manifestation. After their return to the church they received a blessing with the Most Blessed Sacrament. And it was high time to hurry to the next meeting at the famous shrine of Altotting.
