The Pro-Vida group from Santander Diocese (Cantabria region) described the scene as they reached the city of Santander: “The arrival of the Blessed Virgin’s Icon at Santander was a momentous occasion. Hundreds of people were waiting to welcome her, while the Cathedral and other church bells pealed to greet Her arrival."
"The Bishop of Santander, Mgr Vicente Jiménez, and his clergy were at the entrance to the Church of El Santo Sacramento - (Blessed Sacrament) or Santo Cristo (which is the Cathedral crypt) - to receive Our Lady of Czestochowa. This has been a very moving occasion, and will bear great fruits!”
Once the Icon was taken inside the church in procession, Mgr. Jiménez presided and directed the Celebration of the Word and the Prayer for Life, and incensed the Icon. 
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed, and Our Lady of Czestochowa was venerated for a long time by the people who filled the church.
This first call at Santander caused a great impression on the people present.
At about 9.30 pm., the Icon was again placed on the “Life-Mobile” and proceeded to Colegio Torreánaz at Anaz-Solares.
