On Thursday, February 7, Our Lady of Częstochowa reached Madrid. The visit in the capital of Spain started with the collegiate church of San Isidro el Real (St. Isidore), the patron saint of the city, who was much devoted to the Virgin Mary. In the years 1885 -1993 this church was the co-cathedral of Madrid, until John Paul II consecrated the cathedral known as Almudena.

On Thursday, February 7, after a three-hour journey at 1PM Our Lady of Czestochowa arrived to visit the community of Talavera de la Reina in the archdiocese and province of Toledo.
She visited the school of Colegio de la Compania de Maria. The children were waiting for the arrival of the Icon together with their teachers. There were about 1 thousand people together.

On Wednesday evening, February the 6th, the Mother of God in Her Częstochowa Icon stopped in Damiel. It is known for the national park called las Tablas de Daimiel. Among the splendid nature of La Mancha there are many lakes keeping the water levels stable and many marshes which are regularly flooded thanks to the complex hydrological system connecting the lakes to the rivers of Guadiana, Ciguela, Zancara and Riansares.

On February the 6th on the way from Cordoba to Madrid the Mother of God stopped in a small mining community of Almaden, which is located in the region of Castilia – La Mancha, in the province of Ciudad Real. It lies at the foot of Sierra Morena mountains and is famous for mining and processing the mercury ore, which had been mined here from anscient times.
